Macron spent an hour urging Putin to end the war

The President of France had already the eighth telephone conversation with the owner of the Kremlin.

On Tuesday, March 22, French President Emmanuel Macron held an hour-long telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the invasion of Ukraine, but could not agree on a ceasefire.

This is reported by Le Figaro, citing a statement from the Elysee Palace.

In The report says Macron has already had his eighth conversation with the Russian president. And although he, like all the previous ones, was inconclusive, the President of France believes that there is no need to stop efforts.

“There is no other way out but a ceasefire and good faith negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. The President of the Republic stands next to Ukraine,” the office of the President of France said in a statement.

The Kremlin reported that the conversation took place at the initiative of the French side. Its content is described as “an exchange of views on the situation around Ukraine, in particular, on the course of negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian representatives.”

Recall that earlier French President Emmanuel Macron said that we need to prepare for a big war in Europe, therefore, it is necessary to increase investment in the French army.
