The French President stressed the need to adhere to commitments to Ukraine.

The head of the Kremlin does not want peace with Ukraine and is not ready to negotiate it, so French President Emmanuel Macron will resume negotiations with Vladimir Putin only “when the context and conditions are right “relevant”.

Macron said this during his working visit to the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires.

At the same time, the head of France “never ruled out” such a dialogue.

After Russia's massive attack on the Ukrainian power grid on November 17, the French president considers it obvious that Putin's intentions are to intensify hostilities.

“No matter what Putin's statements are, he does not want peace and is not ready to negotiate. In this context, we must adhere to our obligations to the Ukrainians, that is, allow them to wage this war of resistance, supply weapons, equipment,” Macron added.

He also added that it is the weapons, Supporting Ukraine and providing the ability to resist are key “in the coming days and weeks.” Allies must promote “a peace that is not a capitulation by Ukraine,” he said.

For his part, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is also heading to the G20, said on Sunday that he “does not intend to talk” to Vladimir Putin and that it is necessary to “double our efforts to strengthen assistance to Ukraine.”

Emmanuel Macron spoke during a press briefing before leaving Argentina for Brazil, where he will take part in the G20 summit.

As it became known earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin will not go to the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil is a member of the International Criminal Court and should have arrested him.

Recall that France and Britain have authorized strikes on Russia with their long-range missiles. This was reported in Le Figaro.
