French President Emmanuel Macron has said he intends to pass tough laws to combat Islamic separatism. He presented a plan, which includes school reform, Le Point writes.

Starting in 2021, homeschooling will be strictly limited, and schooling will become compulsory from the age of three. According to Macron, the Muslim community in France is more of a “counter-society,” and some Muslim children are cut off from society. The government believes that internal reforms should help integrate migrants into society. In addition, it is planned to control the curriculum in schools and foreign funding for mosques.

It is noted that the announcement of a strict restriction of home education has already sparked protests on social networks. Macron acknowledged that this is indeed a “radical plan”, but it is necessary to “promote the integration of Islam in the republic.”

Back in April 2016, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls warned of the threat of Salafism in the country. He said that he regretted that almost all the terrorist attacks of recent years were carried out “in the name of Islam” and expressed the hope that ideological discussion should not be conducted only between Islam and society, but also take place within the framework of Islam.
