French President Emmanuel Macron pointed to a common point of view in the positions of Russia and Europe. The corresponding message appeared in the leader's Instagram account after his visit to Moscow and Kiev.

According to the French president, neither the Russians nor the Europeans are interested in instability in the world.

“In order to avoid war, to create elements of trust, stability, visibility, this tense situation requires a useful response for our entire Europe, as well as for Russia. Since neither Russia nor the Europeans are interested in disorder and instability,” Macron wrote.

Macron's talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin took place in the Kremlin on February 7 and lasted more than five hours. As a result, Putin said that the meeting with Macron was held in a businesslike manner, was meaningful and useful. The head of state also specified that he had discussed with the French president the issues of non-expansion of NATO and the situation around Ukraine. At the same time, Macron's proposals had not previously received approval from Paris' allies in the North Atlantic Alliance, including the UK.
