The European community will oppose courts that help the Russian Federation trade oil in circumvention of EU sanctions.
The European community will intensify the fight against the so-called “phantom fleet” of the Russian Federation – Russian tankers transporting oil bypassing European sanctions.
French President Emmanuel Macron stated this at a press conference after the summit of the European Political Community in the UK, Ukrinform reports.
The French leader stressed that he supports the call of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to “strengthen our actions against the so-called “phantom fleet,” that is, ships that allow Russia to circumvent EU sanctions.”
Macron also assured that support for Ukraine from the European community will increase.
“We have reaffirmed our support for President Zelensky and the Ukrainian people, and it is clear that Ukraine's place in the European family is fully justified. Our support will increase because Europe and its security are at stake in Ukraine,” – he said.
Recall that French President Emmanuel Macron said that he was ready to resume communication with Kremlin head Vladimir Putin because he believes “in the power of dialogue.”
