EU members must ensure that Russia does not win victory in the war. In particular, France will become another country that will sign a security agreement with Ukraine.
French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about this at the World Economic Forum in Davos, writes Ukrinform.
“What is useful and at the same time a certain pressure on President Putin is all the bilateral security guarantees that we provide, plus the assistance efforts that we make, this is what will help Ukraine,” – said Macron.
As the French leader noted, this is why Ukraine was offered to conclude bilateral agreements with member states that would ensure security and would not depend on joining NATO. The day before, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had already traveled to Ukraine and signed such an agreement.
“We are completing work on the same agreement with Ukraine,” Macron emphasized.
He is convinced that in 2024 Europeans must try to develop an effective agenda that will ensure that Russia cannot and should not win in Ukraine.
“It’s not just Ukraine that is at stake, but our values, as well as our collective security in Europe, in the Caucasus, throughout the region,” Macron emphasized.
Previously it was said that Macron should arrive on a visit to Ukraine in February.
