French President Emmanuel Macron is in talks with other leaders countries of the European Union about the search for a new candidate for the post of head of the European Commission instead of Ursula von der Leyen.

The publication reports that Macron has already discussed this issue with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and proposed former European Central Bank President Mario Draghi for this post.
Bloomberg notes that Macron's actions come on top of von der Leyen's dissatisfaction in European countries due to the excessive politicization of the position of the head of the EU executive body – in particular, her unconditional support for Israel.
At the same time, according to the publication, it is not yet possible to assess how serious Macron is about changing von der Leyen and such conversations may be pressure on the head of the European Commission to get some concessions from her in the future.
