On the evening of March 13, French President Emmanuel Macron held telephone conversations with his American counterpart Joe Biden.

The heads of the two states agreed to tighten the sanctions already imposed against Russia, support Ukraine and jointly take all necessary measures to end hostilities in Ukraine. They noted the need to hold Russia accountable and support the government and people of Ukraine. Macron and Biden agreed to maintain close contact on this matter.
After this conversation, the President of France called Volodymyr Zelensky. Macron expressed his full support and spoke in detail about the additional assistance that the European Union decided to provide to Ukraine at the Versailles summit. The heads of the two states discussed the continuation of negotiations between Kiev and Moscow. In the coming days, they will continue to coordinate.
Earlier, the Office of the President confirmed that negotiations with Russia would take place on March 14.
