Lukashenko assures that he does not belittle the importance of women
Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he is against the election of a woman as head of state.
This was reported by the state information BelTA news agency, quoting his words.
“In Belarus, God forbid, they elect a woman. The US president does not have the powers, and here you have to delve into everything: feed and water… In Belarus, the president is the commander-in-chief. And then, it's hard work. You don't have to burden a woman like that. This is not a ceremonial position. Maybe, over time, we will approach this style. But for now, this is not a feminine style,” he said.
At the same time, Lukashenko emphasized that he “pays tribute to women without diminishing their importance.”
“But they should be there so that we can lean on a strong shoulder, as we usually do,” he said. Lukashenko.
Recall that Polish President Andrzej Duda refused to take a joint photo at the summit due to the presence of Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko. As Duda's entourage noted, this was a conscious and symbolic gesture.
