Lukashenko made a cynical statement about Jews: the Israeli Foreign Ministry summoned the Belarusian ambassador

by alex

The Belarusian dictator has again shown his bias towards Jews.

Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in a public statement at a meeting with officials drew attention to the large number of Jews in one of the corruption cases and suggested that this was no coincidence. The Israeli Foreign Ministry summoned the Belarusian ambassador and expressed an official protest against anti-Semitic comments.

This is reported by the Israeli TV channel I24news.

Talking about the case of former Minister of Agriculture Igor Brylo, accused of corruption, Lukashenko said: “Here there is a list of 30 suspects. Excuse me, I am not an anti-Semite, but more than half of the accused are Jews.”

After this, he further showed his prejudice towards Jews, focusing specifically on the nationality of the accused, and not on the fact that the main person involved in the case, Igor Brylo, held the position of “presidential assistant,” that is, he was a confidant of Lukashenko himself.

“What's going on here? They (the Jews) have acquired a special privileged status? They steal and don't think about their future? In Belarus, everyone is equal before the law. Jews, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Russians, as well as the Poles,” said the Belarusian dictator.

Such words prompted a quick response from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Deputy Director for Eurasia and Western Balkans at the Israeli Foreign Ministry Yuval Fuchs summoned the Belarusian ambassador to express disapproval of Israel. Fuchs said that “the statement by the President of Belarus is unacceptable, outrageous and sounds like a clear anti-Semitic comment.”

The Israeli TV channel recalled that this is not the first time in recent times that Lukashenko has made controversial comments regarding Jews.

Last December, he praised Armenia, saying that its people are smart because there are no Jews among them.

Recall that Belarus transferred the latest weapons to the Armenian belligerent Azerbaijan, although Belarus and Armenia were allies in the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) pact led by Russia.
