The representative of the regime Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus could lose its statehood due to the sanctions of the European Union.
This was stated by the Minister Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei in an interview with one of the TV channels.
In his opinion, not everyone in the EU agrees with the approval of sanctions against Belarus. According to him, “sensible colleagues” are against the restrictions.
“Because in the end no one will win. Belarus risks losing its statehood if the pressure of sanctions continues. Although we will do everything to ensure this did not happen, and the European Union will forever lose Belarus. And I think that this is absolutely not in the interests of “Europe”, – said Makei.
As a reminder, on December 2, the United States imposed new sanctions against Belarus. The restrictions affected 20 individuals, 12 organizations, and also three planes were under sanctions.
As reported, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Alexander Lukashenko, with his statement of intentions to visit the illegally occupied Crimea “burned all the bridges” from Ukraine.
