Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said on May 27, that the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko ordered the creation of an allegedly people's militia in the country.
International observer Ivan Yakovina told about this on the air of Radio NV.
“Lukashenko recently announced that he is creating some kind of southern operational command, that he is moving some troops south to the border with Ukraine. I think he intends to scare Ukraine with an invasion,” the expert said.

Therefore, such forces can only be useful against the Russian Federation,” Yakovina explained.
In Moscow, according to him, they are increasingly talking about the possibility and necessity of holding a referendum in September on Belarus joining the Russian Federation on an equal basis with “L/DNR”, Kherson region and South Ossetia. Lukashenka will never and never agree to join the Russian Federation, so he would rather start a war with the help of the militia against Putin than subscribe to such a story.
