Home office food

In Corona times, Austrians have a lot of frozen food on the table. In the previous year it was a total of 105,000 tons.

Eat outdoors? Nothing! We Austrians therefore ate 105,000 tons of frozen products in the previous year – a record and 16 percent more than in 2019.

According to Iglo, 25 kilos of frozen vegetables and fish fingers or fish (each +16 percent), potato products such as French fries (+20 percent) and frozen ready-to-eat meals (+11 percent) ended up in our stomachs. According to the AMA, the biggest crisis winners in fresh food (see graphic) were cabbage vegetables. Plus here: 33 percent.
