The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in the National Football League (NFL) Finals. The meeting was held in Inglewood (California, USA) and ended with the score 23:20 in favor of Remz.
The scoring was opened by the Rams in the middle of the first quarter. Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham caught a pass from quarterback Drew Stafford in the end zone. This attack was completed by kicker Matt Gay, who converted an extra point. Thanks to this, the Rams took the lead 7:3. At the end of the quarter, the Bengals managed to score the first three points thanks to the accurate strike of kicker Evan McPherson from 29 yards.
At the beginning of the second quarter, the Rams earned another touchdown – Stafford made a successful pass to Cooper Kapp and the score became 13:3.
Six minutes before the end of the first half, the Cincinnati players played a combination, as a result of which the wide receiver Tee Higgins, after the transfer of running back Joe Mixon, brought his team another six points. And McPherson made the score 13:10, just breaking through the extra-point.
The second half of the game began with a Bengals touchdown – Ty Higgins put his team ahead already at 12 seconds. A few minutes later, the Bengals player converted a field goal and added three more points to his team's treasury. Thus, the dark horse of the final game of the NFL took the lead in the account 20:13.
But in the third quarter, Los Angeles closed the lead with a 41st-yard field goal from Matt Gaye.
Cincinnati led 20:16 almost until the end of the meeting. Everything changed a minute and a half before the final whistle. Kapp scored another touchdown off the pass from Stafford Cooper. The final point in the game was an extra point realized by the Rams player.
Cooper Kapp was named Most Valuable Player of the Match (MVP). He became only the eighth receiver in history to receive this award. Kapp also became only the second player in NFL history, in the same season, to win the Super Bowl MVP award and become the regular season offensive player of the year.
The Super Bowl is the highest-rated event in the United States and annually attracts more than 100 million viewers from television screens. A spectacular musical show is traditionally held between the second and third quarters.
