Long-range Taurus missiles for Ukraine: what decision did the Bundestag make?

The issue of supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine was put to a vote by the opposition faction.

On Thursday, March 14, deputies of the German Bundestag rejected resolution on the supply of Taurus long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine.

This is reported by the German publication Bild.

It is noted that the issue of supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine was put to a vote by the opposition faction of the CDU/CSU. Only 190 deputies of of the Bundestag were in favor, then 495 legislators did not support this decision.

Recall that the day before, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz once again stated that he does not support the transfer of Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine.

Let us add that analyst at the Stockholm Center for Eastern European Studies Andreas Umland believes that as long as Scholz remains chancellor, direct deliveries of Taurus to Ukraine will not take place.
