Moscow will face “severe economic and diplomatic consequences” in the event of a “military invasion” of Ukraine. This was stated by a member of the British House of Lords Zach Goldsmith, answering the question of politician Michael Ankram about the reaction of London and NATO to the “build-up of Russian military presence” near the Ukrainian borders. “We are deeply concerned that Russia is building up its military presence near the Ukrainian border … We are closely monitoring the situation and made it clear to Russia that any military invasion of Ukraine would be a strategic mistake and would lead to severe economic and diplomatic consequences,” he said.
