Computer peripheral maker Logitech has announced that it will no longer release Harmony universal remote controls. Why is not clear.
The company will cease producing such remotes, but their inventory will continue to be sold off. When they run out, Harmony remotes cannot be found on the market.
Logitech emphasized that it is no longer “innovating with Harmony or developing new products.” The company promised that it will continue to support the remote control software, as well as update the base of the devices they support. Support will be provided for as long as the remotes are used by customers. In addition, Logitech will be updating the Harmony apps for mobile and PC.
Recall that the first such remote control was released back in 2001. In 2004, the manufacturer Harmony acquired Logitech.
