The Lithuanian President said that the Kremlin's threats will not force his country to make concessions on the transportation of Russian goods through its territory .
Lithuania will adhere to the EU sanctions against Russia and will not make any compromise on restricting the transit of goods to the Kaliningrad region.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said this reported on his Facebook page.
“I discussed this topic in Brussels with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. It is clear that Lithuania must and will apply EU sanctions. Lithuania is obliged and will maintain control over the goods transported through its territory, and there can be no question of any “corridors”, as well as concessions to Russia in response to the Kremlin's threats,” he said in a message on the social network.
Recall that following the rail transportation of sanctioned goods, Lithuania also banned Russia from transporting road cargo on its territory. Now Russia can deliver sanctioned goods to Kaliningrad only by sea.
