In Lithuania they believe that everything needs to be returned to the Cold War level.

The defense industry capacity of Western countries is growing, but they still do not satisfy the demand caused by Russian aggression against Ukraine.

This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Valdemaras Rupshis, informs LRT.

During participation in a meeting of the NATO Military Committee, he stated that currently almost all Western countries have increased defense spending, but he believes that it is necessary to restore the same capabilities that were during the Cold War.

“Military production capacity is increasing, but it does not cover orders. Ukraine's achievements also have a direct impact on our readiness, so we say that industrial capacity must be increased immediately,” Rupšis said.

We recall that it was previously reported that the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense stated that there is no threat of an attack by Russia on NATO, since the Kremlin does not have the resources to open a second front.

In addition, we previously informed that the German brigade in Lithuania will defend the eastern flank of NATO.
