Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania Aušrine Armonaitė invited citizens to invest funds in the country's defense instead of putting them in a “sock”.

This is reported by Delfi.

Reflecting on the sources of funding for Lithuania’s defense, the minister noted that one of them could be citizens’ investments.

“For example, take money on credit from residents. I have heard criticism of the idea of such bonds, but there is a lot of finance that people still have. Maybe it’s better not to keep it in a sock, but to invest it in a tank,” – suggested to Aushrina Armonaite.

According to her, it is very important to explain to citizens the idea of such bonds.

“Perhaps the state will not give large percentages, but there are people who voluntarily support Ukraine, I think they will understand,” the minister emphasized.

Recall that Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia signed an agreement on the creation of the Baltic Defense Line to strengthen NATO's eastern border.
