TASS, October 14. The administration of the social network of professional contacts LinkedIn has decided to terminate the work of the localized version of the platform in China due to the new regulatory requirements of the authorities for Internet resources. The corresponding statement was published on Thursday in the official blog of the social network.
“We are facing a much more complex operating environment and heightened regulatory compliance in China. With this in mind, we made the decision at the end of this year to shut down the current localized version of LinkedIn, which provides people in China with access to the global platform,” says in the message.
LinkedIn added that the new social media strategy will focus on helping Chinese professionals find jobs in the PRC and local companies in finding qualified candidates.
“Later this year, we will be launching InJobs, a new standalone job search application in China,” the platform said. As noted, the announced application does not imply the ability to share publications and does not function as a social network.
