Hungary continues to block Ukraine's accession to the EU.
Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary, said that he considers it a mistake to open negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union while it is “not ready” for this.
He said this at the congress of his Fidesz party.
According to him, “serious political battles” will take place in the European Union in the coming months. He says the “false promise of starting negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU” should be corrected, “since Ukraine is now light years away from the European Union.”
The Hungarian Prime Minister also noted that Hungary must change the EU, but without radical changes.
“We resist the machinations of the Brussels bureaucrats, we resist the invasion of migrants, we resist gender propaganda, we resist the illusions of war, we resist Ukraine’s unprepared membership in the EU, we resist green ideologies, which are increasingly even Jacobinism,” Orban said.
He also says he doesn't want “Europe and Hungary to become an open-air museum,” he added.
