With the acquisition, the MTH Group's sales are expected to rise to more than one billion euros in 2021/22.

The Libro and Pagro parent MTH buys the Swiss office supplies wholesaler Offix Holding. Offix supplies local specialist dealers, retail chains and online providers and most recently achieved sales of around 240 million Swiss francs (223 million euros). No information was given on the purchase price.

Bundling

The office supplies provider Office World already belongs to MTH in Switzerland. “Now we are bundling our business with the Swiss Offix Holding AG,” said MTH CEO Martin Waldhäusl in a broadcast on Friday. The turnover of Office World Group AG will amount to around 400 million Swiss francs with the acquisition.

The Management Trust Holding (MTH) of the industrialist and former ÖVP politician Josef Taus includes Libro and Pagro in Austria (360 branches) as well as the household discounters Mäc Geiz and Pfennigpfeiffer in Germany. The trading division of the MTH Group comprises 766 branches and around 5,100 employees in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

Significant increase

The entire MTH Group, which in addition to the trading business also includes tech companies for access systems (e.g. Axess) and several printing companies (including Gerin), will generate sales with the acquisition in Switzerland in the 2021/22 financial year according to current estimates well over 1 billion euros.
