British racer Lewis Hamilton received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. A complete list of state awards laureates is posted on the government website on December 30.

Seven-time Formula 1 champion Hamilton, who equaled Germany's Michael Schumacher in the number of championship titles won last season, was knighted for his merits in motorsport.

Cinematographer Roger Deakins, best known for the filming of Blade Runner 2049 (2017) and 1917 (2019), was awarded the same honor.

Ann Baker, a 106-year-old Salisbury-based volunteer who has spent decades raising funds for the charity organization National Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse, is honored with the Order of the British Empire.

A similar award went to the 1966 world football champions with the England squad Jimmy Greaves and Ron Flowers. as well as singer and DJ Craig David.

More than a thousand people have become laureates of state awards.

Earlier it became known that conductor and pianist Mikhail Pletnev was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II Degree.
