The politician believes that Putin's actions ignore international law
British Foreign Secretary David Lemmy said that Vladimir Putin heads a “mafia state” that he seeks to turn into a “mafia empire”.
About this Politico reported.
He made the comments during a meeting in New York, emphasizing that the invasion of Ukraine is personally beneficial only to Putin.
Lemmy also compared the Russian president to a slave owner, noting that his actions ignore international law. Lemmy's plain language: “Your (Putin's) invasion is in your own interests. Yours alone. To turn your mafia state into a mafia empire. An empire built on corruption.”
In his speech, he noted his family's personal experiences with imperialism, noting: “I speak not only as a Briton, as a Londoner and as a Foreign Secretary. But I also stand here as a black man whose ancestors were taken in chains from Africa.”
This speech took place against the backdrop of Ukraine's efforts to obtain Western missiles to attack Russian targets.
Recall that a spokesperson for the British Prime Minister, Keira Starmer, said that the country's position on the use of Storm Shadow missiles by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to attacks on Russian territory remains unchanged.
