Sarri should get back into the coaching business at Lazio
With a somewhat unusual Twitter message, Italy's first division soccer club Lazio has announced its new head coach. A tweet with a cigarette emoji was the sign of Maurizio Sarri's signing, as several Italian sports newspapers reported on Wednesday. Sarri is known as a chain smoker. The 62-year-old was a coach at Juventus Turin from 2019 to 2020. He's also sat on the bench at Chelsea and Napoli.
The search for a coach at Lazio began after Simone Inzaghi, a player and coach of the club for years, did not sign a new contract and was confirmed as the coach of champions Inter Milan a short time later. With Sarri, Lazio wants to go back to the Champions League, as the “Gazzetta dello Sport” wrote.
