Lawyer Korytov warned smokers about new fines due to fire safety
In 2022, bans for smokers in Russia will be tightened. Pavel Korytov, a lawyer of the European Legal Service, warned about this in an interview with the Prime agency.
The specialist noted that next year Russians will be fined under the article on violation of fire safety rules for smoking at real estate and enterprises. At the same time, he stressed that in the event of a fire that arose through the fault of a smoker, the responsibility would be stricter. Korytov also recalled that in 2021, residents of Russia were banned from smoking in medical institutions, retail outlets and warehouses, and then the requirements for equipping outdoor smoking areas came into force.
In addition, the lawyer said that since this year the price of cigarettes has increased by 20 percent. He added that tobacco prices will continue to rise in 2022. So, next year, all participants in the turnover of nicotine-containing products will be obliged to submit data to the “Honest Sign” labeling system.
Earlier it was reported that the smoking of cigarettes and vapes in the wrong places in Russia will begin to be monitored using CCTV cameras. Currently, the development of a prototype of a system is starting to quickly catch the intruder and send a signal to the appropriate authorities or those responsible for security. The new software will become part of the existing video analytics system. The latter, using machine vision, in real time notices the appearance of people in certain zones, monitors their behavior and movement.
