Lavrov told in Belarus about shelling of “yellow vests” in France

During his visit to Belarus, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke about the methods of Western countries in dispersing protesters, including shelling. RIA Novosti reports.

Lavrov recalled the protests of the “yellow vests” in France, rallies against quarantine measures in Germany and the ban on abortion in Poland. In his opinion, the world media covered the situation in France differently than the protests in Russia and Belarus.

“According to the estimates of French human rights activists, almost 15 thousand rubber bullets were fired at the demonstrators, 2.5 thousand people were injured. Nobody talks about this,” the minister reproached the journalists with bias. Lavrov added that Russia and Belarus will defend their point of view on the observance of human rights at the UN, not allowing them to forget the vices of Western society.

The “yellow vest” promotions began in France in November 2018. Initially, they were held to protest the increase in the price of motor fuel, which caused protesters to wear reflective yellow vests of motorists. Over time, the protesters began to put forward political demands at the actions, which took place every Saturday before the quarantine.
