Moscow has information about the recruitment of mercenaries in the countries of the Western Balkans to be sent to the escalation zone in the Donbass and destabilize Russia. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with RT, his words were published on the website of the Foreign Ministry.
“There is information that mercenaries are being recruited in Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to knock Russia off balance and send them, among other things, to the Donbass,” the diplomat said. According to him, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently checking these data.
Lavrov stressed that after the war unleashed by NATO in Yugoslavia, the Balkan region is not prospering. “Kosovo and some other parts of the Western Balkans are becoming a breeding ground for crime. There are terrorists, drug dealers there,” he specified.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz argued with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the possibility of a new war in Europe, calling it unimaginable for the modern generation. In response, the Russian leader recalled that the international community had recently witnessed the war in Yugoslavia unleashed by NATO.
