Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in an interview with RIA Novosti, said that there were no obstacles to filling the quota at the US Embassy and stabilizing the work of the diplomatic mission.
“After all, nothing prevents the US Embassy from filling the agreed quota (455 employees) and stabilizing the work of its consular service,” the Foreign Minister stressed.
On December 1, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that another group of employees of the US diplomatic mission in Moscow would leave the territory of the Russian Federation by July 1, 2022, if the American side does not compromise on resolving the diplomatic crisis.
Prior to that, Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said that 27 employees of the Russian Embassy in the United States were being forced to leave the country before January 30.
