Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recalled the importance of a full-fledged dialogue with Washington to ensure global stability. The diplomat stated this in an interview with the Bosnian-Herzegovinian newspaper Oslobodenje.

Commenting on the thesis about Bosnia and Herzegovina as a “victim of the Russian-American confrontation,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed the hope that the Biden administration will have enough political will not to turn the Balkans into an anti-Russian confrontation front. “We hope that the Biden administration has enough political will and reason not to turn the Balkans into another front of anti-Russian confrontation, otherwise it will turn into disastrous consequences for Europe as a whole,” he said.

Lavrov also stressed that a dialogue between Russia and the United States would serve to resolve regional conflicts, and the course of drawing Kiev into NATO with the possibility of missiles appearing at the borders of the Russian Federation creates military risks “for all parties involved, up to a large-scale conflict in Europe.”
