Lavrov promised to give Secretary of State Blinken an answer to security proposals in Europe

On Tuesday, February 15, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov promised to give US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken a response from Moscow to American security proposals in Europe within a couple of days. This was announced by the representative of the State Department, Ned Price, Interfax reports.

“When the Secretary of State and his Russian counterpart, Foreign Minister Lavrov, had a conversation yesterday, Lavrov said that the answer would come within a couple of days,” Price said.

The representative of the department stressed that the United States is waiting for the response of the Russian Federation. “We will read it very carefully, we hope to see constructive feedback in it,” he said, expressing the hope that Russia is true to its word that it intends to engage in dialogue and diplomacy for a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.

On February 15, Blinken phoned Lavrov. The telephone conversation was held at the initiative of the American side. The Foreign Ministry said that the Russian side during the conversation stressed the need to continue the joint work of Moscow and Washington on security guarantees. In addition, Lavrov and Blinken discussed the schedule of upcoming contacts at various levels.
