Lavrov demands that Ukrainian territories be left to Russia in exchange for peace.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is supposedly ready to a diplomatic end to the war against Ukraine, but wants to keep for itself all the territories that it managed to occupy.

“We remain open to a political and diplomatic settlement based on taking into account our legitimate interests, based on taking into account the realities that have developed over many years, which have now led to the current situation,” said the minister of the aggressor country. < /p>
Lavrov also added that since “Western countries” do not want to take into account the interests of Moscow and “the realities that have developed on earth,” there are no options for reaching an agreement “for now.”
“However, in the absence of serious proposals from those who declared war on us and (taking into account) their unwillingness to take into account either our interests or the realities on earth, it will not yet be possible to speak at the negotiating table. Such options are not visible “, said Lavrov.
He also stated that Washington and its allies allegedly “do not give up the dream” of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia. At the same time, it seemed to Lavrov that the Russian army was allegedly “successfully operating” in the “Ukrainian theater of military operations,” and supposedly “in the West they are no longer talking about their victory, but about how to prevent Putin from winning.”
The minister of the aggressor country also repeated that the security of Russia and the Ukrainian territories captured by the occupiers “will be reliably ensured, and entire special operations (wars against Ukraine – ed.) will be achieved in this context,” Lavrov said.
Recall that earlier Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia achieves its goals in the so-called “North Military District” “predominantly peacefully.” The Kremlin traditionally accused Ukraine of rejecting Russia’s “offers” regarding peace negotiations, and announced the continuation of the war.
