Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov drew a parallel between the case of Alexei Navalny and the poisoning of former GRU officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury in 2018. RIA Novosti reports.

According to Lavrov, what is happening also resembles the situation after the crash of the Malaysian Boeing MH17: the Russian state is required to investigate, but its requests are not answered. In the case of Navalny, this is how the German authorities behave with Russia, the minister said.

He also stressed that the accusations of Russian officials of involvement in the alleged poisoning are unfounded. However, the Russian side, according to Lavrov, is already used to such accusations.

Alexei Navalny became ill on August 20 during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow, the plane had to land in Omsk. The patient was admitted to the toxic intensive care unit of the city hospital. Navalny fell into a natural coma and was connected to a ventilator. In the afternoon of August 22, the blogger was taken to the Charite clinic in Berlin. On September 7, he came out of a coma, and on September 10 it became known that he completely recovered.

In March 2018, according to London, a former GRU officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with the Novichok nerve agent. The British side considers the Russian leadership to be involved in the incident.

A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 flying flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in Donetsk region on July 17, 2014. Onboard there were 298 people, all of them died. The international investigation team, following the investigation, brought charges against three Russians and one citizen of Ukraine.
