Russia is trying to improve relations with the terrorist group Taliban.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov approved the idea remove the Taliban from the list of banned organizations.

“They are the real power, we never removed our embassy from there, like the Chinese embassy. By the way, the Afghan ambassador presented his credentials in Beijing to Xi Jinping along with other ambassadors”,” Lavrov is quoted as saying.
The Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan on August 15, 2021. Already in December of this year, he banned girls from attending school after the sixth grade and women from working. Another six months later, in May 2022, women were ordered to completely cover their faces and bodies in public and not to leave the house unless necessary.
As international human rights organizations wrote, since the Taliban came to power in the country, the percentage of child and forced marriages has increased again.
Since terrorists captured Afghanistan, Russian police have more than once detained citizens suspected of adhering to the Taliban ideology and planning terrorist attacks. Recently, journalist Nadezhda Kevorkova was placed in a pre-trial detention center on charges of publishing a text justifying the Taliban.
