Russia and China must mobilize like-minded people to defend the principles of the UN Charter. Such a common task of the two countries was named by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Lavrov rebuked Western countries for trying to “by hook or by crook ensure their dominance,” including by ignoring the UN Charter and substituting its own rules for it.
“Of course, we need to mobilize like-minded people in upholding justice, in upholding the principles of the UN Charter,” said the head of the Russian foreign ministry in talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
Earlier, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, accused Russia of taking a “course of confrontation” with Brussels. He also answered the question of why the EU does not change the principles of working with Russia if they do not bring results. In his opinion, Brussels still has old needs. For example, it is important for him to maintain relations with Moscow in the areas of energy and climate. However, their implementation depends on the circumstances.
