Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has arrived for talks with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Geneva, TASS reports.
The plane carrying the Russian minister landed in the Swiss city at 20:36 local time (22:36 Moscow time).
Blinken previously revealed the topics he wants to discuss with Lavrov in Geneva. According to him, at the upcoming talks, he will urge the Russian side to work together on “restoring and improving the security architecture of Europe.” He also warned Moscow that aggression against Ukraine would negate such opportunities.
On January 18, the diplomats phoned and discussed negotiations on security guarantees (their project was proposed by Moscow) and the situation in eastern Ukraine. Lavrov insisted that Washington stop “replicating speculations about Russian aggression.”
