The course of drawing Ukraine into NATO with the subsequent appearance of missiles at the Russian borders creates unacceptable threats to Russia's security and provokes serious military risks. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the diplomat, the high degree of confrontation caused by Washington's actions could cause a large-scale conflict in Europe. “We believe that, first of all, it is necessary to reduce the degree of confrontation caused by the way American colleagues“ take care ”of their Ukrainian protégés,” he said.
Lavrov recalled that on December 7, a conversation took place between US President Joe Biden and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, during which the main topic was the Ukrainian crisis and the lack of progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Donbass.
