Foreign Minister Lavrov said that the West turned a blind eye to Kiev's war crimes for years

For years Western countries shielded the Ukrainian regime by turning a blind eye to Kiev's war crimes. Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov convicted his Western colleagues of this during a meeting with Foreign Minister of the LPR Vladislav Deynego and First Deputy Foreign Minister of the DPR Sergey Peresada, broadcast by RT.
The diplomat stressed that Western states supported the authorities of Ukraine, despite the killing of women, children, the elderly and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. According to him, the West encouraged the active formation of neo-Nazism and Russophobia on Ukrainian territory, which ultimately “plunged the country into tragedy.”
Lavrov also added that the Western side supported Kiev in its efforts to sabotage and destroy the Minsk agreements. “NATO and the EU covered Kiev even in the most recent weeks, when he finally set out to seize the DPR and LPR by force,” he said.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia could not remain indifferent to the direct appeals of the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics for military assistance. According to him, Moscow could not but help the republics “in the fight against the aggressor.”
