The airline said it would temporarily ground flights using all 65 737 Max 9 aircraft to carry out inspections. Boeing said they are aware of the incident and are also investigating it.

“My heart goes out to those on that plane – I'm deeply saddened by what you experienced,” said Ben Minicucci, CEO of Alaska Airlines, adding that every plane will be returned to operation only after complete maintenance and safety checks.
