The budget deficit of Kyrgyzstan against the background of the coronavirus pandemic and the political crisis in the republic by the end of 2020 could reach up to $ 450 million, said the head of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry Ruslan Kazakbayev.
“In connection with the coronavirus infection and a certain political crisis, they have suspended their active activities, as a result, by the end of the year, we expect a budget deficit of 35 billion to 45 billion soms … this is $ 400-450 million,” the Kyrgyz minister quoted RIA Novosti as saying.
Kazakbayev added that for Kyrgyzstan this is “a very tangible amount.”
Earlier, the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan scheduled early presidential elections in the country for January 10, 2021.
