The Minister noted the very harmful political consequences if Ukraine is left without assistance.
The deadline for approval of financial assistance to Ukraine from the United States is end of January. A long delay will have negative consequences, including on the battlefield.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba while participating in a panel discussion on changes in the global context at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Commenting on the delay in the US Congress appropriating additional funding for Ukraine in the amount of about $61 billion, the Foreign Minister stressed that this decision should be approved by the end of this month.
“The end of January. This is what our American partners are telling us. And everyone else from different political spectrums,” he said.
The minister noted very harmful political consequences if Ukraine is left without help.
“From a financial point of view, of course, this is very important, because it will allow us to continue to strengthen our army. It will also help our macro-financial stability. But this assistance is also very important politically, because it will give us a very clear message that the United States will remain with us,” Kuleba said.
Recall that assistance to Ukraine is supported by a majority in both parties in the US Congress, despite the fact that discussions on this issue continue.
