President of Ukraine (1994 – 2005) Leonid Kuchma and his wife do not plan to leave the country due to information about a possible new wave of escalation from Russia in the coming days.
This was announced by Kuchma's press secretary Darka Olifer in response to numerous inquiries.
According to her, the couple are now at home in Kiev.
“They have no plans to leave Ukraine,” she stressed.
At the end of last week, the White House announced a possible new wave of escalation from the Russian Federation in the coming days, after which several countries advised their citizens to leave the territory of Ukraine.
In response, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry advised to remain calm and avoid actions that undermine stability and sow panic, and also assured that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are constantly monitoring developments and are ready to rebuff any encroachment on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
And President Volodymyr Zelensky also urged to remain calm, stressing that diplomacy is the only way to de-escalate.
