This was announced at a briefing by National Security Adviser to the President of the United States Jake Sullivan.
“If Russia moves in this direction, we will react decisively,” Sullivan assured.
According to him, the topic of the Russian military presence in the Caribbean and South America was not discussed at the talks in Geneva on January 10.
The threat of Russian invasion exists
According to Sullivan, the threat of a full-scale Russian military invasion of Ukraine is still high.
The Biden adviser noted that US intelligence is not yet saying that the Russians have indeed decided to take a military course of action towards Ukraine. He expressed hope to solve the problem through diplomacy.
But Sullivan warned the Kremlin that in the event of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the United States would reinforce NATO's eastern flank.
