Krasnikov denied rumors about Metalist's debts for David from Vitoria

Vice-president of the Metalist football club Evgeny Krasnikov called the rumors about debts for the transfer of footballer David from Vitoria an attempt by the Brazilian club's management to cover up their own incompetence and negligence. He stated this in a commentary to Sport Arena.

As you know, the 22-year-old winger moved from Brazil to Ukraine to play for Metalist on February 6 – literally 18 days before the start of a full-scale war, and did not have time to play a single match for the Kharkiv club. But nevertheless, they are trying to give this transfer a scandalous color.

The information of the Globo publication that allegedly Metallist did not pay Vitoria for the transfer of David 2 million is not true. We have been operating in the Latin American market for many years. Football club Metalist, whose president is Alexander Yaroslavsky, is a solid, reliable and fundamental partner in all countries of Latin America, and not only, it can be said throughout the world, – said Krasnikov, noting that misunderstandings about transfer fees are simply excluded.

“We have made deals with clubs such as Boca Juniors, Internacional, Sao Paulo, Corinthians, Fluminense, Palmeiras, San Lorenzo and others. Not a single club or player has ever had a moral or material claim against FC Metalist and our president. Alexander Vladilenovich (ed. note Yaroslavsky) carried out much more serious transactions and never let our partners doubt their decency and professionalism. And the people who write that Yaroslavsky promised, Yaroslavsky advertised, Yaroslavsky didn’t pay, they don’t even look funny, but pitiful, ”said the vice-president of Metalist, and at the same time called the club’s threats to file complaints with FIFA untenable.

Evgeny Krasnikov said that the appearance of such statements in the media is nothing more than an attempt by the management of Vitoria to cover up their own mistakes.

“As for the football player David and the football club Vitoria. It was the first time we encountered this level of unprofessionalism, but we clearly went our own way and were ready to buy this player in accordance with contractual obligations, which I cannot disclose. The main reason why the player did not end up in Metalist is the negligence and unprofessionalism of Vitoria's management, who did not even fill out the International Transfer Certificate (TMC), which is fundamental. We have other documents confirming our innocence,” Krasnikov said, emphasizing that the transfer amount indicated in the media is not true.

“We made every effort to ensure that the player ended up with us, which can be confirmed by the famous Brazilian functionary Andre Curie, who is an agent of a football player and can tell you in more detail, – said the vice-president of Metallist. “And the Brazilian club’s statement that they will go to FIFA to sue just makes me smile.”
