Kim Yeo Jung
The younger sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Kim Yeo-jong, was not included in the renewed composition of the Politburo, approved by the results of the Congress of the Korean Workers' Party (WPK). This was reported by the South Korean agency Yonghap.
Kim Yeo-jung has been a member of the Politburo since 2017. According to the results of the party vote held on Sunday, January 10, the sister of the North Korean leader lost her status position: she remained a member of the Central Committee of the WPK, but did not enter its Politburo.
The publication notes that the demotion of Kim Yeo-jung, who has long been considered the second person in the country, may signal that she has lost her former influence and power. This is in stark contrast to South Korean intelligence reports that Kim Jong-un has delegated some of his powers to a younger sister.
Earlier it became known that at the VIII Congress of the WPK in Pyongyang, Kim Jong-un was elected secretary general. Meng Chu-suk, a South Korean political scientist and employee of the Foundation for the Future of the Korean Peninsula, said that this indicates that unlimited power is concentrated in the hands of Kim Jong-un.
The DPRK leader's sister is called a powerful player in North Korea. In her native country, she is called the “princess”, although she acts like a Terminator, wrote the New York Post.
