DPRK propagandists said that the test of the sea-to-surface guided missile was aimed at “enhancing the effectiveness of strategic control against potential enemies in accordance with changing regional security conditions.”

North Korea claims that the strategic cruise missiles hit their targets after flying for more than two hours in elliptical and octagonal orbits with a length of 1,500 kilometers.

According to the DPRK, the tests did not affect the security of neighboring countries.

The KCNA statement said that North Korea “will fulfill its important mission and responsibility to safeguard sustainable and lasting peace and stability based on a more powerfully developed military force in the future.”

As reported by the Korean publication Kyodo, the armed forces of South Korea confirmed that at 16:00 on Saturday, January 25, a multiple cruise missiles fired from inside North Korea toward the Yellow Sea.

Earlier this month, North Korea conducted two missile tests. Pyongyang has also tested strategic cruise missiles several times in the past.

Recall that North Korea will send another 150 short-range ballistic missiles to aggressor Russia this year.
