A man accused of killing his own daughter was released on parole, but he was afraid of going back to prison.
A resident of the Indian capital Delhi killed a man and burned his body in order to fake his own death and avoid being returned to prison.
This is reported by the BBC with reference to the police in Uttar Pradesh.
It is noted, that the victim of 36-year-old Sudesh Kumar was the bricklayer Domain Ravidas, who had the same height and weight as the suspect.
According to the investigation, the detainee hired a contractor to carry out some repair work in his house, and the next day Ravidas's body was found in a vacant lot. “His remains were burned beyond recognition, but he had Kumar's identity card in his pocket,” the message says.
The suspect's wife, Anupam, later told law enforcement officers that she identified her husband's body and the case was closed. However, the police subsequently received information that Kumar was planning to visit his beloved.
“The police searched the couple's house and detained Kumar,” the newspaper said. “After his arrest, Kumar confessed to the murder of Domaine Ravidas on November 19” .
Anupama was also arrested for conspiracy. In addition, the police later found CCTV footage of the detainee carrying the body of a bricklayer on a bicycle.
In 2018, Kumara was charged with the murder of his 13-year-old daughter. The man was released on parole during the COVID-19 pandemic as authorities tried to prevent overcrowding.
At the same time, the attacker was convinced that his parole period would soon end, so he developed a plan to avoid re-conclusion.
