NSDC Secretary Danilov: decisions of the Russian Federation and the West will not be effective without the recognition of Ukrainians

The decisions of the Western countries and Russia regarding the fate of Ukraine will not be effective if they are not recognized by the Ukrainians themselves. This condition for the recognition of decisions was called by the secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Alexei Danilov, writes RIA Novosti.
Commenting on the draft treaty with the United States and agreements with NATO member states published by Russia, Danilov said that “nothing will work if the Ukrainians do not recognize its outcome.”
According to Danilov, the Ukrainian authorities are currently not observing a “critical build-up of forces” from Russia.
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba wanted Kiev to participate in Russia's negotiations with NATO, the United States or the European Union (EU).
On December 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced draft agreements with NATO and the United States on security guarantees. The documents contain calls not to view Moscow as an enemy, not to create a threat of military escalation and to abandon NATO's eastward expansion.
