Kherson region and Melitopol are and will be Ukraine: local councils adopted appeals

by alex

The deputies of the regional council of the Kherson region and the city council of Melitopol adopted urgent appeals, in which they noted that these territories are part of sovereign and unitary Ukraine. This was announced by the head of the Servant of the People faction Olena Shulyak.

“Any attempts to hold pseudo-referendums to create so-called “people's republics” or form occupational administrations are not supported by either the residents or the legally elected local authorities,” she said.

In addition, according to her, the Kherson Regional Council of the VIII convocation appealed to the President of Ukraine and the entire Ukrainian people with a message that the “referendum” on the creation of the so-called “People's Republic” in the Kherson region is a sham.

– Deputies of the Kherson Regional Council of the VIII convocation will never recognize attempts to create a “people's republic” on the territory of the Kherson region and seize part of Ukraine. We have the only answer to the invaders: “Russian warship – go to …”. Kherson region is not conquered and resists the invader. Our hearts beat in time with all of Ukraine, which is defending itself from the occupiers. Kherson is Ukraine! We are Ukraine,” she quoted Yury Sobolevsky, First Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council, Head of the Kherson Regional Organization of the Servant of the People Party.

A similar statement was made by the deputies of the Melitopol City Council – they appealed to the President, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova and NATO member countries with a call to release Mayor Ivan Fedorov; close the sky over Melitopol; as well as to open an investigation on charges of high treason on the fact of attempts to create an occupation administration in Melitopol by representatives of the Opposition Bloc party.
